The monastery was donated to St. Francis in 1215. In 1789, it was transformed into a private Villa and was acquired by its current family owners in 1890, who have since been dedicated topreserving the memories of this unique place.

THE HISTORY OF VILLA VETTA MARINA

Today, only the ancient well, the bell tower, and the church gateway remain as remnants of the Franciscan monastery. The current Villa stands on the foundations of the former Benedictine monastery, with the bell tower being its oldest surviving element, dating back to the 12th Century.
